Nigeria’s opposition leader Atiku, calls Davido the King of Nigerian Music

The leader of Nigeria’s largest opposition party and a leading contender against President Mahamadu Buhari in  Saturday 16th February elections Atiku Abubakar, has endorsed Davido in a video when he was asked who his favourite musician was.

He said during his youth, Fela Kuti was his favourite musician and he attended all his shows but now, the reigning king is Davido.

Davido tweeted the video with the caption “Our incoming president knows wassup!!!”, a raging endorsement of the opposition candidate in Nigeria’s crucial elections two weeks from now.

Atiku Visit

Davido, and his girlfriend, Chioma Rowland, met with the PDP presidential candidate.

The singer disclosed the visit on Instagram when he shared a photo of himself alongside Mr Atiku.

He wrote; “Thank you for having us Sir. You all should be afraid of what I’m gonna do next.”

Although the singer did not disclose details of the meeting, many say it has everything to do with to the 2019 presidential elections.

Davido, who is fast becoming the toast of Nigerian politicians, performed at the PDP National Convention in Port Harcourt on Sunday. The former vice president emerged the presidential candidate of PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition at the convention.

The 22-year-old singer was also the star attraction on his uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s campaign trail.
