The Ghana Police Service says the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has been released after a judge issued a warrant to arrest him and search his residence for evidence of his alleged involvement in the recent kidnappings and arsons in the country.
The police service made the announcement via their official Twitter handle.
Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has been released and is expected to report back to the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters on Thursday 13th June 2019.

According to the police, Mr Ofosu Ampofo is to report back to the police CID headquarters on Thursday 13th June.
Details of Mr Ofosu Ampofo’s interrogation has, however, been kept out of public discussions so far. The police did not reveal any information beyond the fact that he’s to report to the CID to assist in investigations.

Earlier yesterday, the police service released a letter detailing the reasons for his arrest and when the arrest was carried out.
