Embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of somewhat defunct gold trading and investment firm Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1 says he will address the press on August 19, according to a MyNewsGh.com report.
Nana Appiah Mensah’s MenzGold is currently owing clients millions of Ghana Cedis after their activities were halted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for illegally operating an investment company.
The Menzgold CEO is currently standing trial for defrauding by false pretense and two counts of abetment to carry out banking business without a license, contrary to the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act.
Two of his companies — Brew Marketing Consult and Menzgold Ghana Limited — represented by him, have each been charged with defrauding by false pretense as well.
He has however pleaded not guilty to all the charges leveled against him was recently granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 1 billion with five sureties three of whom must be justified.
In a tweet announcing his intentions to address the press, Nana Appiah Mensah said ” I will address the press on the 19th August,19, regarding the state of affairs of our companies, with final practical resolutions to all pending teasing matters, geared towards a highly possible rebound soon.
