FIFA extends GFA Normalization Committee’s term

In order to supervise the upcoming elections

World Football governing body FIFA has extended the term of the Normalisation Committee until November 17 in other for the committee to supervise the upcoming Ghana Football Association(GFA) elections.

The mandate of the Normalization Committee expired on September 30, 2019 but the recent developments with respect to the upcoming GFA elections has persuaded FIFA to extending the NC’s stay.

A statement from the Bureau of Fifa council reads:

“The Bureau of the FIFA Council has extended the mandate of the GFA Normalisation Committee (NC) to enable the NC supervise the upcoming GFA Elections,”

The statement continued; “However, in view of the upcoming GFA elections, FIFA has extended the Normalisation Committee’s mandate up to November 17, 2019 to enable it complete the process of electing a new President and Executive Committee.”

The Normalisation Committee will now focus on making sure the much-anticipated GFA electoral process takes place successfully.
