The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Mr. George Amoako claims Ivorian side San Pedro came to Kumasi with lots of provocation.
The Ivorian based club lost 1-0 to the ‘porcupine warriors’ on Sunday at the Baba Yara sports stadium in a game that had a lots of unprofessional and chaotic scenes in it.
In an exclusive interview with Kessben Television on Tuesday morning, the CEO says their Ivorian counterparts came solely to provoke them and cause confusion at the Baba Yara sports stadium and not to play football.
“I think they came with lots of provocation. They did a lot of things that, normally an away side isn’t supposed to do but we are ready for them in the second leg.”
The CEO who now doubles as an Executive Committee member of the new Ghana Football Association says his side has no fears travelling to Cote di Voire for the second leg this coming Sunday, claiming they are ready.
“We are ready for them in the second leg. They can kill us but we are going there to take our win and qualify”
The ‘porcupine warriors’ face San Pedro on Sunday for the return leg in an encounter which promises to be nothing short of controversies.
Asante Kotoko have a slim 1-0 advantage ahead of the second leg and will be hoping to qualify to the next stage of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup having been already crashed out from the CAF Champions league by Etoile du Sahel weeks ago.
