Nigeria’s Atiku Abubakar contested Buhari fiercely in the last election in 2015. His election loss may be nothing compared to having his son diagnosed with the dreaded COVID-19.

“Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has been duly informed” he tweeted.

His son has since been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.

Atiku had one message for the public though: Stay safe, coronavirus is real.

My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real. -AA
