Speaking in an interview with the host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, a former member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, has cautioned young men in various university campuses against trading their sperms for money.
According to the former NDC MP, male students have developed the habit of trading their sperms for money in the various fertility centers across the country.
He said young men these days are ready to do anything to make money and he lays the blame on the doorsteps of the clergy in the country.
Hon. Tetteh Chaie attributes the rise in sperm sales to fertility centers to the failure of religious institutions in Ghana to preach the gospel to young people, adding that, churches are now filled with preachers who focus on wealth and affluence.
He is therefore calling on the general public to instill “rich Ghanaian culture” into their wards to eschew behaviors such as the selling of sperms for survival.
“In most of our universities that is the job these young men do. I have a friend who runs a fertility center in the heart of Accra and if I tell you the number of young university male students who troop into the facility to donate sperm and take money, you will be amazed. These students take these monies and to look good and show off. Ghana is on a time bomb and as Ghanaians and we need to holistically bring back our culture and teach our children, that is the only solution”, he added.
