A 2020 World Bank report titled “Youth Employment Programs in Ghana: Options for Effective Policy Making and Implementation” identifies agribusiness, entrepreneurship, apprenticeship, construction, tourism, and sports as key sectors that can offer increased employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth. It also calls for more investments in career guidance and counseling, work-based learning, coaching, and mentoring to equip young people with the skills needed for work. When last did you attend a youth mentorship program? Are you a student, worker, or both? Mentoring programs can be a powerful recruiting and retention tool when developed thoughtfully and intentionally. If resourced adequately and deployed intentionally, mentoring programs can attract potential employees, empower the current workforce, and retain talent.

LEC Group, in partnership with Adom FM & TV, Asempa FM, Brandeis International Business School (USA), Regional Ministries, and Role Model Africa, brings you Ghana’s most preferred youth gathering and a 15th-anniversary celebration with the sole aim of practically empowering the youth of the nation to capitalize on opportunities in our current economy.

The National Youth Mentorship Summit will be hosted in the Ashanti & Northern Province for KNUST campus – Kumasi, Greater Accra & Volta & Eastern Province for UG campus, Accra and Central & Western Province for UCC campus, Cape Coast. The schedule is as follows:

Zone Date Time Venue
Northern Zone 23rd July 2022 8 am Great Hall, KNUST, Kumasi
Southern Zone 27th August 2022 8 am Cedi Conference Hall, UG, Accra
Western Zone 3rd September 2022 8 am NEC Auditorium, UCC, Cape Coast

The theme for this year is “Developing an entrepreneurial youth,” and the summit promises to bring exciting yet educating topics facilitated by seasoned speakers on the thematic areas. These speakers are experts and individuals with first-hand experience in their various fields.
