Ajax defeated RKC Waalwijk after coming back from a first-half deficit thanks to another goal from Mohammed Kudus.
After scoring in the Dutch Cup match during the previous week, the 22-year-old increased his season total as John Heitinga’s team won 3-1 at home.
Ajax only mustered one attempt on target in the first half until Mats Seuntjens gave the opposition the lead in the game’s 17th minute.
After the break, Heitinga’s team played differently than they had in the first half, and Brian Brobbey came off the bench to give Ajax the equalizer.
After 78 minutes of play at the Johan Cruijff Arena, Jurrien Timber, who was a fellow replacement, was put up by Calvin Bassey, giving Ajax a 2-1 advantage.
Just nine seconds remained till the end of regulation time when Kudus added his name to the scoresheet, latching onto a cross from Steven Berghuis to seal the victory before entering extra time.
