Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed his gratitude to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates for their resounding endorsement at the Super Delegates Conference held on Saturday, August 26. The conference marked a significant step in his political journey, setting the stage for the upcoming presidential primaries and the 2024 General Election.

Addressing the media at his residence in Accra, the Vice President conveyed his humility and appreciation for the emphatic endorsement he received from the party faithful. He extended his commendation to the Party leadership, the Electoral Commission, and the entire NPP family for the seamless conduct of the polls, highlighting the importance of unity and hard work in securing a resounding victory in future elections.

Having secured 629 votes, the Vice President clinched the top spot, a testament to the faith the party members have in his leadership and vision. Following closely, Kennedy Agyapong emerged as the second-highest vote-getter with 132 votes, while Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen secured the third position with 95 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto garnered 36 votes, positioning himself in fourth place.

The contest was also marked by the tied fifth position, which saw Mr. Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai Nimoh each amass nine votes. The results illustrated the depth of choices and preferences within the party’s ranks.

In his address, Vice President Bawumia urged party members to rally behind a common goal: victory in the November 4 Delegates Conference and, ultimately, success in the 2024 General Election. He emphasized the necessity of unity in the face of challenges and called for concerted efforts to secure a prosperous future for Ghana under the NPP’s guidance.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, Vice President Bawumia’s appeal for unity and hard work resonates deeply with the party’s base. The journey ahead requires dedication and perseverance as the NPP strives to secure a third consecutive term, a feat that will position the party as the leading force in Ghanaian politics.

With the confidence of the party’s delegates behind him, Vice President Bawumia stands as a formidable contender in the upcoming primaries and an emblem of the NPP’s aspirations for a better Ghana.
