Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, issued a harsh warning to the Bantama constituency delegate who defied his orders and voted for the incumbent MP, Honorable Asenso Boakye, in the just-ended parliamentary primaries.

The primaries witnessed a heated contest as Asenso Boakye went head-to-head with the junior brother of the former Assin Central MP. Kennedy Agyepong’s (Ralph Agyepong) campaign centered around allegations that the incumbent MP had abandoned the constituency and mismanaged its affairs. Furthermore, he accused the MP of verbal assaults and a display of power drunkenness.

In a direct confrontation with the Bantama constituency delegate, Kennedy Agyapong delivered a warning, stating, “I will give Asenso Boakye a showdown; it will be in your interest not to vote for him because if you people defile my orders and vote for him, you will see what I will do to him. I have many secrets about him; if you dare me and vote for him, then I will show him what I am capable of.”

Despite the strong warning, the Bantama constituency delegate proceeded to vote for Asenso Boakye in significant numbers, putting up a bold challenge to Kennedy Agyapong’s authority.
