The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye, has vehemently refuted allegations of camping delegates in the ongoing party primaries.
While acknowledging a gathering with supporters, the first-time MP seeking re-election clarified that it was a morning devotion conducted in preparation for the upcoming primaries.
Asenso Boakye, who also serves as the Works and Housing Minister, attributed the gathering to his practice of seeking divine guidance as a devout Christian when approaching elections.
In a press conference addressing the media, he dismissed the claims as false and a product of people’s imagination.
“It is a figment of their own imagination. I have not camped anyone. Some are as old as my grandfather, so how can you camp your grandfather? How can you camp your father? So it is a figment of their own imagination,” Asenso Boakye declared.
Bantama has emerged as a key battleground in the upcoming primaries, with the incumbent MP facing competition from Ralph Agyepong. Agyepong, a brother of the well-known Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has expressed his determination to unseat Asenso Boakye.
