Remaining Fixtures and Key Battles for the Black Stars to Qualify for World Cup

Ghana’s Black Stars continue their quest for World Cup qualification with crucial upcoming matches against Madagascar, Chad, Mali, Central African Republic, and Comoros. Can they secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

Ghana’s Black Stars have reignited the hopes of Ghanaians after a resounding 5-0 victory over Chad in their latest World Cup qualifier. The dominant performance has boosted confidence in the team’s ability to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With five crucial matches remaining, the Black Stars must maintain their momentum to achieve their goal.

Group Standings

Ghana currently leads Group I with 12 points from five matches, having won four and lost one, with a goal difference of +7. Madagascar follows closely in second place with 10 points, winning three, drawing one, and losing one. Comoros is in third place with 9 points after three wins and two losses, while Mali sits in fourth with 8 points, having won two, drawn two, and lost one.

Path to Qualification

The victory against Chad has put Ghana in a strong position at the top of Group I with 12 points, two points ahead of Madagascar. The Black Stars’ next challenge is an away fixture against Madagascar on March 24, where a win would further solidify their standing.

A return leg against Chad on September 1 offers another opportunity to collect valuable points before Ghana faces a tough home battle against Mali on September 8. The team will then travel to face the Central African Republic on October 6 before wrapping up their campaign with a crucial home game against Comoros on October 13.
