The Office of the Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has released a strongly worded statement dismissing recent allegations published by Otecfmghana and Ghanaweb. The reports claimed that the former president sought to overturn the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision on early primaries and delay the scheduled July 19 NPP National Delegates conference.
According to the release from Nana Akufo-Addo’s office, the former president has been out of jurisdiction for some time and has not engaged in any efforts to influence party decisions. It stated that he has neither submitted any petitions nor expressed any intentions to interfere with the ongoing party processes.
Further, the statement accused those behind the publications of having ulterior motives designed to create discord rather than contribute to the party’s progress or the improvement of its fortunes.
The office urged the public to disregard the reports and focus on the party’s unity as it prepares for the upcoming conference.
