The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared Ernest Darko Akore, a former Technical Advisor (Chef de Cabinet) at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, wanted in connection with a high-profile corruption investigation.
According to the wanted notice released by the OSP, Mr. Akore is being sought over his alleged involvement in corruption and corruption-related offences linked to the Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML).
The suspect, who is 67 years old, is believed to be a dual Ghanaian-American national and is reported to have held an American passport in the past. Authorities list his possible locations as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and South Africa.
The OSP is urging the public to assist in locating Mr. Akore. Individuals with information on his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the OSP.
The wanted notice was issued pursuant to an arrest warrant by the High Court – Criminal Division in the case of Republic v. Ernest D. Akore, with Suit Number CR/0397/2025.
The Special Prosecutor emphasized that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, in line with Ghana’s legal standards.
