Social media went into emotional shock and spiritual confusion this week after a Ghanaian lady confidently stated, “I don’t pick trotro… because it’s scary.”
According to her, the fear of rickety seats, unexpected pastors preaching, and sudden mate insults keeps her far from the humble but heroic trotro.
“I just can’t,” she said in a TikTok post. “The way people hang from the door like Avengers… It’s not for me.”
But as expected, Ghanaian internet users did not let it slide.
One commenter asked, “So how do you move? Hoverboard? Or you’ve been adopted by Uber?”
Another wrote, “She dey call Bolt like it’s her house help.”
Some defended her fears, recalling moments when trotro mates sped off while passengers were still halfway inside, or when bus doors flung open like Fast & Furious trailers.
Others argued she was just showing selective fear, since “riding on the back of an okada at midnight isn’t exactly spa therapy.”
Still, many are curious: if not trotro, then what? Does she walk to work with Beyoncé-level grace? Or has she mastered the ancient art of “hmm I’m almost there” while still in bed?
