Two Arrested in Connection with Ablekuma North Election Violence

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects linked to violent incidents during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run on July 11, 2025.

The Accra Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals believed to be connected to violent disturbances during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run held on Friday, July 11, 2025.

In a press release dated July 23, 2025, the suspects were identified as Musah Muntari, a 46-year-old Station Manager at STC, and Ali Saeed alias Mboma, a 43-year-old businessman. The two are currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations into the assaults and other violent acts that marred the by-election.

The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accountability for electoral violence, intimidation, or misconduct. It also urged the public to provide credible information to assist in investigations by contacting their emergency lines.
