Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, has been detained along with two others after failing to meet bail conditions imposed by the Office of the Special Prosecutor. The detention follows formal charges in relation to a corruption investigation into a revenue assurance contract awarded during his tenure.

According to a statement from the OSP, Mr. Adom-Otchere is required to present two landed properties registered in his name to secure bail. However, he has informed the authorities that he does not own any landed property in Ghana, leading to his continued detention.

The two others charged are Otchere Kwame Baffour Awuah, Group Executive of Commercial Services at GACL, and dAlbert Adjetey Adjei-Laryea, CEO of Devnest Systems.

The investigation centers around a sole-sourced revenue assurance contract awarded by GACL to a private firm owned by the proprietor of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML). The OSP is examining potential procurement breaches, particularly the award of a contract to a company not approved by the GACL board.
