Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has agreed to the NDC’s (the opposition party) decision to restructure its front bench in Parliament, according to sources at MyJoyOnline.com.
Additionally, it has been stated that he affirms his regard for the National Democratic Congress’ Council of Elders and former President John Dramani Mahama’s participation (NDC).
The sources claim that Mr. Iddrisu wishes to keep a “golden silence” about the situation.
He has promised to completely back the new leadership, which is being led by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, though.
The decision of the party was also endorsed earlier in the day in a Facebook post by Muntaka Mubarak, the former Minority Chief Whip.
The Asawase MP claims he has accepted the decision despite his displeasure since it is in the best interests of the party.
He also expressed his gratitude to John Mahama, the previous president, for becoming involved.
“To all our supporters within and without. I had a lengthy meeting with my big brother, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, on Saturday evening over the parliamentary reshuffle.
“I want to, first of all, thank him for the words of advice and encouragement to me as a younger brother.
“His Excellency’s intervention has brought an end to all the brouhaha associated with the reshuffle.”
Thus, Mr. Muntaka advised the party’s grassroots members to concentrate their efforts on the election of 2024.
“We are for the interest of our party NDC. We need to move on as a party and channel all our energies towards the 2024 elections.”
