If there’s anything I have learned about myself and other guys, a woman will be able to keep her man by basically following 24 key points. I believe strongly that a woman who exhibits these qualities stands a better chance at hitting gold (gold digger or not) in a relationship with any man.
Here we go:
- Intelligence: Ghanaian men appreciate intelligence in a woman. We like women who are smart and can hold their own in conversations. We also like women who are well-read and can contribute to conversations about current events and other topics.
- Confidence: Let’s just say we like women who are confident in themselves and their abilities. We appreciate women who are not afraid to speak their minds and stand up for what they believe in.
- Respect: There’s something incredibly sexy about women who show respect for themselves and others. I know dozen-plus friends who appreciate women who are polite and courteous and who treat everyone with kindness and respect.
- Loyalty: As a Ghanaian man myself, I value loyalty in a woman. I like a woman who is faithful and committed to a relationship and who will stand by me through thick and thin.
- Humor: If you can make a man have a good laugh, then a typical Ghanaian man will appreciate your good sense of humor. We like women who can make us laugh and who can appreciate a good joke.
- Ambition: Ghanaian men like women who are ambitious and driven. We appreciate women who have goals and are working hard to achieve them. (I know it doesn’t sound like it follows conventional thinking but if you have no ambition, a man scarcely respects you).
- Compassion: Ghanaian men like women who are compassionate and understanding. Yes, we appreciate women who are willing to listen and offer support and advice when needed.
- Generosity: Don’t be stingy. Just like women abhor stingy men, Ghanaian men like women who are willing to give their time, money, and resources to help others (not just your man).
- Style: Ghanaian men like women who have a sense of style. We appreciate women who take pride in their appearance and dress in a way that is tasteful and appropriate. Dress to kill and we are dead in love already.
- Faithfulness: Ghanaian men value faithfulness in a woman. We like women who are honest and trustworthy and who will remain faithful to us.
- Support: We like our women to be willing to stand by us and cheer us on in our endeavors.
- Kindness: We appreciate women who are willing to go out of their way to help others and show compassion. Be considerate and not overly insistent on your own interest and happiness.
- Open-Mindedness: Ghanaian men appreciate women who are open-minded and willing to try new things. Yes if you are a woman who is willing to explore different cultures and experiences, you will definitely find Mr. Right and he will stay.
- Maturity: Ghanaian men don’t like women who are immature and irresponsible. A woman should be able to handle her own affairs and make wise decisions.
- Self-Awareness: Ghanaian men appreciate women who are self-aware and in tune with their feelings. We like women who are able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and work on them. Also, women who know when they are wrong (even if they won’t apologize).
- Independence: Ghanaian men like women who are independent and self-sufficient. They appreciate women who are able to take care of themselves and don’t rely on others for their happiness.
- Passion: One of the things I appreciate most in a woman is enthusiasm and motivation to pursue either her own dreams or mine.
- Honesty: We also value honesty in a woman. We appreciate women who are truthful and sincere and who don’t try to hide their true feelings.
- Integrity: We appreciate women who are honest and trustworthy and who always (well not always) do the right thing.
- Empathy: I can bet you want a man who is empathetic and understanding. Well, we also like women who are able to put themselves in other people’s shoes and show compassion.
- Optimism: Be optimistic and have a positive outlook on life. If you are able to see the good in every situation and stay hopeful, you are our Proverbs 31 dream.
- Self-Respect: We (and here I am pretty confident) appreciate women who have self-respect. We like women who are confident in themselves and their abilities and who take pride in their appearance.
- Gratitude: If I do something for you, be grateful and appreciative. All men appreciate women who are able to recognize the good things in life and express their thanks.
- Love: Finally, Ghanaian men appreciate women who are affectionate. We like women who are able to show their love and appreciation for their partners and who are willing to make sacrifices for them.
But, I know that women can only do these things for the man they love. In that sense, this is a no-brainer. If you find out that you find it very difficult to display these qualities to your man, it may be a sign that you are not meant to be together.
Nevertheless, good luck!
