In his recently published memoir, — Adjetey Anang: A Story of Faith, Imperfection, and Resilience — the “Things We Do for Love” screen god apologized to all the ladies he had inappropriate behavior with.
“To every lady, I have been on that path with, I would like to apologize unreservedly for such inappropriate behavior. I’ve struggled to forgive myself and these experiences have been the lowest points in our marriage and nearly tore us apart. I’m grateful for God and Elom’s forgiveness and the love that has kept us going strong through those dark times,” he wrote.
The legendary actor launched the book to share his life experiences and professional values, and characters that have molded his career and personality while growing up to mark his 50th birthday.
Just like Yvonne Nelson, the actor is of the opinion that writing a book about his life will motivate and serve as a guide for younger people who want to be great to make the best decisions for themselves.
Adjetey Anang discusses the difficulties his marriage has faced in chapter nine of his book, including the almost 7-year wait for their first child and his infidelity.
Anang acknowledges that what initially came across as naive behavior with the other sex quickly evolved into strong flirtation and occasionally went overboard. Some, according to him, began as admiration and amusement, but after repeated conversations, they turned into flirting, which occasionally resulted in physical infidelity.
“You could say I was naive from the start about subtle amorous hints and perhaps made a lot of assumptions about people’s motives till it was too late. Soon, I got bolder, more daring, and more adventurous, and sometimes I initiated flirtatious conversations and led many on. I have been in very compromising situations with ladies. Some started as admiration and fun and after frequent chats, developed into flirting and occasionally went too far,
“Yes, I have cheated on my wife before in the various forms that cheating could be defined as, both emotionally and physically,” he admits.
A-list industry figures from the business, political, and artistic spheres gathered to support the well-known film veteran at the book launch.
Adjetey Anang made an announcement that his nonprofit organization, “One in a Million,” would launch a ten-year initiative to assist mothers and children in receiving high-quality healthcare.
