Daniel Dormelevo, the former auditor general, gave a thought-provoking lecture to students at Ashesi University on the value of service leadership and how individuals can influence good public sector leadership.
During his talk on campus, Dormelevo emphasized the vital role of the public sector in the country’s progress. He stressed that while the private sector is commonly regarded as the engine of economic growth, the public sector acts as the necessary oil for that engine. He articulated, “When the oil is dirty, the engine cannot work efficiently. This is why we must all be interested in building an effective public sector.”
His insightful discussion aimed to highlight the critical importance of a well-functioning public sector in fostering national development and prosperity. Dormelevo’s presence and discourse provided students with valuable insights into the significance of public service and effective leadership within the public sector.
