At least two people were burned beyond recognition in a tragic head-on collision between a Honda Acura and a Jaguar at East Legon, Accra, on Saturday. The horrifying accident, which was caught on CCTV, occurred near the Omama Shop and led to both vehicles catching fire after an electric pole was knocked down, sparking flames that rapidly engulfed the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the flames spread quickly, leaving the victims trapped inside the vehicles with no way to escape. The two fatalities, identified by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) as females, were occupants of the Acura. The passengers of the Jaguar, who suffered serious injuries, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The accident drew a large crowd as thick black smoke billowed from the burning cars. Onlookers could only watch helplessly as the fire raged on. Video footage shared by the GNFS on social media highlighted the devastating aftermath of the crash.

Personnel from the GNFS were able to respond quickly to the distress call, but despite their efforts, the intense flames left the two young girls dead. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
