The Ghana Police Service has successfully restored calm in Mamobi, following violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The incident, which occurred on Saturday, left nine people injured as tensions escalated between the rival political groups.
According to authorities, seven of the injured have been treated and discharged from local hospitals, while two victims remain under medical care for more severe injuries.
In response to the violence, the police have launched an intelligence-led operation aimed at apprehending the individuals responsible for the clashes. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to assist in their investigations as they work to ensure peace and order in the area.
Both political parties have been called upon to encourage their supporters to maintain calm and resolve conflicts through dialogue, as tensions remain high in some parts of the community.
