In a heated exchange surrounding gospel artist Ada Moses’s missed performance at the Women in Worship event in Accra, her manager, Matthew, insists that the organizers did not meet agreed-upon arrangements. According to Matthew, the organizers failed to provide a business-class return ticket as specified in the initial contract, and the last-minute delays in booking left Ada stranded.
“We made it clear from the beginning,” Matthew explained. “The organizers knew Ada needed a round-trip ticket and payment in full before traveling.” When the organizers proposed a 50% deposit due to low ticket sales, Ada’s team reluctantly accepted, hoping the outstanding balance and logistical issues would be resolved before showtime. However, organizers reportedly only sent an economy premium one-way ticket on the morning of the event, prompting Ada’s team to refuse to board without a return ticket.
The singer’s manager clarified that the team was even prepared to upgrade the ticket themselves to business class but only if both legs of the trip were guaranteed. By the time organizers provided the economy ticket, it was too late for the artist to feel confident in the event’s commitments. “We were left with no option but to call off the trip,” Matthew added, citing additional losses incurred from Ada locking out the date for other shows, her band’s travel to Ghana, and her own ticket upgrade expenses.
When asked about a refund, Matthew stood firm: “They can take us to court if they think they have a case. But they failed to meet their commitments, and Ada paid dearly for it.”
