Honourable Samuel Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo–Prampram and Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, embarked on a landmark visit to the TP Ghana Kente Site on Thursday, 24 July 2025, underscoring the Ghanaian Government’s steadfast commitment to nurturing homegrown technological prowess.
Flanked by an eminent delegation—including Mr Alex Okosi, Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa; Mr Charles Murito, Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy in Sub-Saharan Africa; Ms Dela Quarshie-Twum, Vendor Manager; and Mr Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre—the Minister’s presence lent significant gravitas to TP’s burgeoning role in the global–local innovation ecosystem.
A cordial reception awaited the delegation at the Kente site, where Mr Rida Atouahri, Site Director in charge of global operations; Ms Elma Marsela Essoun, Country Human Resources Director; and Ms Carolyne Wilson, Production Director, alongside TP’s dedicated workforce, extended a warm welcome. The dignitaries commenced their engagement with an immersive tour of the production floor, affording the Hon. Minister and TP’s partner delegation the opportunity to observe operational best practices in situ and to interact with employees, gaining invaluable insights into the company’s day-to-day dynamism.
In a subsequent briefing, Mr Atouahri charted TP’s remarkable ascent since its inception in 2022, when a modest cohort of 35 pioneers laid the foundation. Today, the organisation proudly boasts a headcount exceeding 1,300—a testament to its exponential growth and Ghana’s emergence as a premier hub for outsourced innovation. Of particular note was the announcement that Ghana had been officially certified as a “Great Place to Work”—a milestone achievement that underscores TP’s unwavering commitment to fostering an environment of excellence, well-being, and professional fulfilment.
Ms Elma Marsela elaborated on TP’s meticulous talent acquisition and human capital strategies, emphasising the rigour of its recruitment protocols: anonymised applications, comprehensive assessments, and linguistic proficiency evaluations. Beyond recruitment, she illuminated the company’s holistic approach to employee development, positioning each role as a conduit for transformative opportunity and lifelong career enrichment.
The Hon. Minister lauded TP’s exemplary performance and its tangible contributions to Ghana’s socio-economic fabric. He encouraged the leadership to leverage the Government’s ambitious “24-hour economy” initiative—citing prospective incentives such as reduced power tariffs and enhanced corporate tax relief—as levers to amplify TP’s competitive advantage on the world stage and to accelerate its vision for sustainable, innovation-driven growth in Ghana.
This high-profile engagement not only reaffirms TP’s status as a catalyst for digital transformation, but also signals a new chapter in public–private synergy, wherein strategic collaboration paves the way for enduring prosperity and technological leadership.
