The World Bank’s Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment team for Ghana is seeking to hire a short-term consultant to assist with the macro-monitoring and provide analytical support for ongoing and pipeline projects.
Scope of work
Macro Monitoring and data briefs: The STC will contribute to the development of regular monitoring of macroeconomic and fiscal developments in Ghana. This task involves compiling data from various public sources, cleaning and organizing data, and conducting analysis.
Ghana Public Finance Review (PR): The objective of the PFR is to analyze Ghana’s fiscal system to identify opportunities to strengthen tax policy, intergovernmental transfers, budget execution, and expenditure. The STC will support the drafting of chapters on revenue and spending quality by analyzing relevant data, summarizing relevant academic literature, and helping in drafting the chapters.
Reporting requirements
All reports shall be prepared in English and delivered to the World Bank team. Electronic versions of any draft materials and sections of reports, including all data, should be sent by the Consultant to the World Bank team at the end of the consultancy.
Duration
The consultancy will be over the 2022/2023 fiscal year ending in June 2023.
Required Profile
- An academic background in economics (at the Masters or Ph.D. level)
- Experience conducting data and policy analysis
- Excellent proficiency in STATA and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent writing skills, excellent command of written English Reliability in complying with deadlines
