Gospel music lovers in Ghana and beyond are set for a new inspirational release as composer and songwriter Alex Acheampong prepares to unveil his latest single, ‘Afa’, featuring renowned gospel vocalist Celestine Donkor.

The song is scheduled for release across all digital platforms on Thursday, August 20, 2026, with a message centred on the blessings and possibilities that come with accepting and trusting God.

According to Alex Acheampong, the inspiration for the song was drawn from his personal walk with God and his belief in the transformative power of faith.

“When you accept God, doors open. Marriage, travels, divine connections, peace, so many things follow. ‘Afa’ is simply my way of telling the world, ‘Come and see what God can do.’ If you try Him, you won’t be disappointed,” he said.

The title ‘Afa’ is an Akan expression meaning “it has worked” or “it’s a done deal.”

The song reinforces the biblical principle of putting God first and trusting Him to bring one’s hopes and expectations to fruition.

Musically, ‘Afa’ blends Alex Acheampong’s songwriting strengths with a catchy rhythmic structure and contemporary sounds designed to appeal to both church audiences and mainstream music lovers.

Celestine Donkor’s powerful vocals add another dimension to the track, bringing together the creative strengths of the two gospel musicians.

“This song is a testimony. It’s going to bless homes, and I’m honoured to be part of it,” Celestine Donkor said.

She added, “I’ve always been a lover of SDA music and musicians, hence my excitement for this project.”
