COVID-19 threat may lead to cancellation of all festivities for Kwahu Easter this year

If you were planning to jam and dance to the latest tunes on the Kwahu mountains this easter, or even go paragliding with your friends, chances are you will never get to do any of that this year.

Information reaching Daily Accra suggests that the Ghana Tourism Authority has written to the Kwahu Traditional Council requesting for a meeting on the way forward with the Kwahu Easter festivities with possible cancellation of the entire celebration due to the announcement of two (2) cases of the novel Coronavirus strain (COVID-19) in Ghana, on the table.

Kwahu Easter celebration has become an annual celebration with participants coming from all over the world. The event has seen an upsurge in attendance in recent history especially since the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts decided to add paragliding to the music-heavy events that characterized the festivities.

Ghana as at Sunday still has two (2) cases of COVID-19 even though a third case which has turned out negative has been added to the quarantine list.
