Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has hit back at Christians who are chiding the president for putting a ban on public gatherings, challenging them to focus on living the values of Christianity instead of merely going to church.
“The situation where people go and buy hand sanitizers for GHC5 and decide to sell to others for GHC50 cedis because we are in a crisis is not befitting for a Christian so let’s check that and not just Sunday services.”
The deputy minister was addressing complaints from a section of the public especially religious folk on Okay FM’s morning show about the ban on public gatherings by the president which has resulted in the closure of schools, churches and other social gatherings.
Some Christians, including the Charismatic Bishops Conference, have voiced their displeasure about the ban and have questioned the decision to allow drinking spots, clubs, restaurants, and hotels to operate while churches are ordered to close shop for the next four weeks.
