Coronavirus in Ghana so far: 1 death, closure of all borders and more

The president’s third coronavirus update came with some bad news and good news. The bad news that one of the people infected with the virus with underlying medical conditions lost his life in the early hours of the day.

The good news is that the rest of the eighteen confirmed cases are responding to treatment so much so that, eight (8) out of them are currently in isolation and are being treated by health professionals in their homes.

President Akufo-Addo has announced a closure of all of Ghana’s borders and ports to human traffic for the next fourteen (14) days. According to the president, anyone who is allowed into the country before these two (2) week period will be quarantined mandatorily and tested for the virus before allowing them to mix with the population.

The president announced that the government will be re-recruiting retired health professionals who have voluntarily offered themselves to serve in this time of need.

Fasting and prayers

Wednesday, March 25 has been declared a day of fasting and prayer for the entire nation to seek the face of God in these trying times.

The president held a breakfast prayer breakfast with top religious leaders earlier this week.
