People can be very difficult to control but what every leader will want is for people to see danger and do everything possible to escape it. This is not the case in certain areas in Italy where so many have died due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Italian city mayors are losing their cool over the way people are defying the lockdown even when doing so may lead to certain death.

The first mayor speaking in the video says some Italians are using their dogs as an excuse to go out. She says “Stop using your dogs as an excuse. The dogs are exhausted. Exhausted.”

But according to the mayor (who is also a woman) what drives her crazy is people secretly defying lockdown protocols to go to the beauty salon.

“Something else that drove me crazy is people secretly going to the beauty parlor. You will die all nicely waxed. But you will die.”

The second mayor says people call him to ask for permission to jog outside because they are stressed. He is so angry because he says he has been a runner for a greater part of his life and there were only 20 runners in his town. How come because they are in lockdown, suddenly everyone in the town wants to run?

These mayors are right to be angry. Lives are at stake and the people they are trying to protect don’t seem to see the urgency they are seeing.
