Comic actor Richard Kweku Asante, aka Kalybos, has explained the reason for his support of Hon. Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party instead of his colleague John Dumelo who has so far given Hon. Lydia a fair amount of competition.
If I were an actor supporting NPP, maybe Ayawaso West Wuogon won’t be the place I would go and campaign. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Such a daft move!

Many were expecting Kalybos and his friends to campaign for John Dumelo since they were in the same industry but according to the award-winning comedian, he is a member of the New Patriotic Party and cannot be seen to be campaigning for the opposition NDC candidate no matter the friendship they share.
This comes on the heels of attacks from sympathizers and admirers of John Dumelo who feel it was not right for Kalybos and his colleagues to throw their weight behind Lydia Alhassan.
“We’re all made individually to make different choices and that doesn’t mean an opinion of ‘A’ is an enemy to ‘B'” Kalybos posted on Facebook.
He called on the celebrities and people who feel offended by their actions to stop creating tension between them and their colleague who “understands” the game of politics and choices.
“For your information, John Dumelo and I are very cool and we are not determined enemies. So stop creating room for that cus he knows what democracy and friendship is. Meaning we disagree to agree based on your opinion.”
