On Saturday, March 6, 2021, Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako lost his mother, Gloria Aba Addison, to the icy hands of death at the Tema Maritime Hospital.
Both the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia attended the burial service in the company of Chief of Staff, Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei Opare, and other high-profile government officials according to a Facebook post by Gordon Asare Bediako, a journalist with Mr. Baako’s paper, The New Crusading Guide.
After the burial of Madam Aba Addison, Kweku Baako, together with his family, paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia at the Jubilee House to express their appreciation for the support the president and his vice gave him and his family during the trying times.
Mr. Baako was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Isha Baako, his sisters, and Mrs. Charlotte Osei, the former EC Chairperson, who is also a relative, and other members of the family.
Since the visit, photos of Mrs. Charlotte Osei and President Akufo-Addo have flooded social media with many questioning while the two were seen together. There were perceived animosities between the two when under Nana Addo’s leadership, Charlotte Osei was removed as EC Chair after charges of procurement breaches were made against her.
In all of this, one comment on the photos by Roni Nicol, Deputy CEO of State Housing, says it all — It’s politics, don’t get emotional.
Madam Faustina Nelson and Ade Coker, both family members were also part of the delegation.
