Sentebale, the African charity co-founded by Prince Harry in 2006, has launched legal action against him over allegations of “reputational harm” linked to a wider defamation dispute.

Court filings show the charity has taken the case to the High Court in London, naming Prince Harry and former trustee Mark Dyer as defendants.

Sentebale claims they were involved in what it describes as a “coordinated adverse media campaign” that began in March 2025 and caused damage to its reputation, leadership, and operations.

The dispute follows a major internal breakdown within the organisation that led to Prince Harry stepping down as patron in 2025 after tensions within the board escalated.

The charity argues that the fallout and related public comments contributed to operational disruption and reputational damage.

Harry and Mark Dyer have denied the allegations, describing them as “offensive and damaging”.

The case is being pursued as a defamation claim at the High Court and was filed in March 2026.

It marks an unusual legal confrontation between a global charity and one of its co-founders, emerging from a long-running governance crisis that has drawn public attention to internal disagreements within Sentebale.
