Renowned broadcaster and media entrepreneur Nat Kwabena Adisi, widely known as Bola Ray has been honoured with the African Media Icon Award at the 2026 African Heritage Awards held in Accra.
The event, organised by Heritage Times and convened by Moses Siasia, brought together leaders and achievers from across the continent. President John Dramani Mahama attended as Special Guest of Honour.
The African Heritage Awards recognises Africans who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship, media, governance and humanitarian service. This year’s edition was hosted in Ghana for the first time.
Speaking after receiving the award, Bola Ray reflected on his journey in the media industry.
“What an incredible journey. Next year will be 30 years since I got into the media as a student on campus, and it’s been a wonderful one.”
He said the recognition goes beyond personal achievement.
“Tonight, I am deeply honored to receive the African Media Icon Award. This recognition is not just for me, but for every storyteller, every voice, every dreamer in the African media and beyond.”
Bola Ray also acknowledged the contribution of his team over the years, including staff of the EIB Network.
“I dedicate this award to my incredible team that I’ve worked with over the years, and of course, to the team at EIB Network, handling, managing, directing, coordinating seven radio stations and two TV stations, not just in Ghana, but globally.”
He further thanked his family, including his wife, Dorcas, for their support.
“To God be the glory for the great team that I have and everyone out there supporting to elevate the African story to the world stage.”
The awards ceremony celebrates individuals contributing to Africa’s growth, identity and global influence.
