Founder of the Accra-based retail exhibition Porials Pitch, Dulcie Boateng, has defended the GHC10,000 fee charged for vendor stands at the upcoming event, stating that the pricing is intentional and designed to maximise returns for participating businesses.
Her response follows criticism from sections of the public who have questioned the cost of securing a stand at the retail and networking platform.
Speaking on the issue, Boateng said the pricing reflects a broader strategy focused on delivering value through high customer turnout and targeted sales opportunities.
“A lot of people do not share that same vision… if they did, they wouldn’t be asking why we charge GH₵10,000 for a stand,” she said.
According to her, Porials Pitch is curated to attract thousands of ready-to-buy patrons, creating a favourable environment for vendors to generate significant sales.
“Thousands of people will be here… and it is up to you to make sure they do not leave without buying,” she stated.
Boateng stressed that the event is not a casual marketplace but a deliberately structured commercial platform aimed at driving transactions across all stands.
“We want transactions at every stand… this is not a random event; it is specifically designed for shoppers,” she added.
Porials Pitch brings together entrepreneurs, small business owners, and consumers, providing a space for brands to showcase products, increase visibility, and engage directly with a targeted customer base.
The organiser maintains that vendors who understand the concept and prepare adequately stand to benefit significantly, despite concerns over the entry cost.
