Guinness Ghana unveils GHC100,000 incentive for TGMA Album of the Year category

Guinness Ghana has unveiled a new annual reward package for the winner of the Album or EP of the Year category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), aimed at deepening support for Ghana’s music industry.

The package, which takes effect from the 27th edition of the awards, includes GHC100,000 in cash, funding support for a music video for the artiste’s next project, and a curated album listening experience sponsored by Guinness Ghana.

The initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to creative excellence and long-term investment in the entertainment sector, with a focus on extending value beyond awards night recognition.

Guinness Ghana says the intervention is intended to help artistes build sustainable careers while reinforcing the importance of albums and EPs as complete creative works.

The Head of Media and Partnerships at Guinness Ghana, Yaa Amoah-Owusu, says the Album or EP of the Year category represents the highest form of artistic expression, reflecting storytelling and musical identity.

She added that the package is designed to reward excellence while investing in the future of artistes and the wider industry.

Guinness Ghana, a long-time supporter of the TGMA, says the new initiative also strengthens the relevance of albums and EPs as long-form creative projects.

The listening experience component is expected to create deeper engagement between artistes, industry players and audiences, while increasing visibility for winning projects.

Organisers of the awards have welcomed the development. The Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse, Robert Klah, said the initiative aligns with efforts to celebrate and elevate Ghanaian music while providing tangible support for artistes.

He added that it reinforces the value of albums as complete bodies of work.

This year’s nominees for Album or EP of the Year include Black Sherif with Iron Boy, Stonebwoy with Torcher, Gyakie with After Midnight, Medikal with Disturbation II, Wendy Shay with Ready, and Kweku Smoke with Walk With Me.
