American rapper Kanye West has postponed his scheduled concert in Marseille, France, following growing pressure linked to concerns over his past controversial remarks.

The show had been scheduled for June 11.

In a statement posted on X, West said the decision to postpone the concert was entirely his, adding that it came “after much thought and consideration” and was intended to prevent fans from being affected by the situation.

Reports in France indicated that Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez had been seeking to block the performance over concerns relating to the rapper’s previous antisemitic comments, which have drawn widespread criticism across Europe.

The development adds to a series of disruptions to West’s international touring plans, following earlier issues in the United Kingdom where he was reportedly denied entry and a festival appearance was cancelled.

West, also known as Ye, has faced repeated backlash over antisemitic statements, including a 2025 track titled “Heil Hitler,” which was later removed from major streaming platforms.

He has since stated that he takes responsibility for his actions and is working to make amends.
