The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, Joseph Awal Antwi, has advised candidates sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to stay away from cheating and all forms of examination malpractice.

In an interview with Adom News, Joseph Awal Antwi expressed confidence in the preparation of the candidates, noting that their teachers have equipped them adequately for the examinations.

The MCE gave the caution when the Nkwanta South Education Directorate, with sponsorship from the Nkwanta Assembly led by the MCE and the Member of Parliament Geoffrey Kini, organised a programme to prepare candidates for the examination.

He urged the students to rely on what they have been taught and to conduct themselves with discipline and integrity throughout the process.

He also cautioned teachers against offering any form of support to candidates during the examination period, stressing that maintaining strict adherence to examination regulations is crucial to protecting the credibility of the BECE nationwide.

A total of 2,040 candidates are expected to sit for the BECE in the Nkwanta South Municipality.
