Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, has cautioned young people and the general public to avoid actions that could lead to imprisonment, drawing from her own experience behind bars.

Speaking in an interview on Onua TV on Sunday, 10 May, the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry described prison life as harsh and not something to be trivialised.

“I went into prison for eight months… I scrubbed gutters, washrooms and carried blocks. Prison is real,” she said, urging people to stay away from activities that could land them in jail.

Agradaa also advised individuals involved in legal disputes to avoid arrogance and seek resolution early, warning that stubbornness could worsen their situation.

“If you have a case with anyone that leads to the courtroom, go on your knees and apologise… you may end up in prison,” she said.

Reflecting on her time in custody, she credited her faith and support from her husband for helping her endure the experience, likening her situation to biblical deliverance.

Her remarks follow a high-profile legal case that drew national attention. In July 2025, an Accra Circuit Court sentenced her to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour after she was convicted of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence linked to a money-doubling scheme.

Prosecutors said several victims were deceived into handing over money after she claimed to have spiritual powers to multiply cash.

The sentence was later reduced to 12 months by the Amasaman High Court, which ruled that the original punishment was excessive, although her conviction was upheld.

Agradaa ended her message by urging Ghanaians to value their freedom and make responsible choices.
