Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has called for a detailed and disciplined build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stressing that every aspect of preparation will be crucial as the Black Stars aim for success on football’s biggest stage.

Ghana are set to make their fifth appearance at the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. They have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.

Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the former Manchester United assistant coach highlighted the importance of modern football standards in shaping a competitive squad.

“We have to put the right preparation in place — training, diet, nutrition, physios, fitness, and the details of set pieces,” Queiroz said.

Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.

Ahead of the tournament, the Black Stars are scheduled to test themselves in international friendlies against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2, as part of their final preparations.

Queiroz is expected to name his final squad for the tournament on June 1.
