Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has spoken warmly about Pep Guardiola, crediting the Manchester City manager for playing a key role in his rapid development since joining the club.

The 26-year-old, who arrived at City from AFC Bournemouth in January, has quickly established himself as an important member of the squad.

Semenyo delivered a defining moment at Wembley on Saturday, scoring the only goal in Manchester City’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea to secure the club’s second domestic trophy of the season.

Reflecting on his time under Guardiola, the forward praised the Spaniard’s intensity and winning mentality.

“He’s a madman. We all love him. He’s so passionate and wants to win trophies. What he’s done for the club is amazing,” Semenyo said.

He also highlighted the impact of working closely with the City boss on his own growth as a player.

“I’m grateful he gets to coach me and make me a better player,” he added.

Semenyo has enjoyed a standout campaign across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing six assists for both Bournemouth and Manchester City, performances that have earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Year award.

Manchester City now turn their attention back to league action, with a trip to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday before concluding their season against Aston Villa on Sunday.
