Black Stars assistant coach Roger De Sá has stressed the importance of deploying players in their natural positions as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will make their fifth appearance at the global showpiece this summer in North America, with the team aiming to improve on disappointing group-stage exits in 2014 and 2022.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the South African tactician emphasised simplicity in approach and player management.
“We are not going to teach them how to play. We have the players,” De Sá said.
“We only have to put them in the right position, with the right frame of mind, and when they put on the jersey, they should perform,” he added.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama at BMO Field in Toronto on June 17, before facing England in Boston on June 23, and concluding the group stage against Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 27.
Ahead of the tournament, Ghana will step up preparations with international friendlies against Mexico on May 22 and Wales on June 2.
