Ghana will release next week the medical results of more than 105,000 applicants in its ongoing security services recruitment exercise, Interior Minister Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka said on Saturday.

Muntaka said the applicants who reached the medical stage far exceeded the original target of about 5,000 recruits, underscoring pressure on the recruitment system as authorities seek to expand enlistment.

Speaking at a public engagement event led by President John Dramani Mahama in the Savannah Region, the minister said the government was working with lawmakers to ensure a fair selection process.

“I can assure Ghanaians that next week, the results of the medicals that have been conducted will be released,” Muntaka said, adding that the administration had secured approval to increase the intake.

The recruitment exercise is part of broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s security services, which regularly attract tens of thousands of applicants for limited slots.
