The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Edmond Kombat, has been honoured at the 10th Ghana CEOs Summit in Accra for what organisers described as leadership and efforts toward operational improvement at the state-owned refinery.

The award was presented by the Ghana CEOs Network in partnership with institutions including the University of Ghana, PwC, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Margins Group, Media General and the Multimedia Group.

The event was held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

Organisers cited Mr. Kombat’s role in driving operational changes at TOR, which has faced years of production and financial challenges.

TOR recently received about one million barrels of crude oil aboard the MT Cap Felix in Tema. The shipment, sourced from Shell and delivered through Fujairah/Triangle Commodities Trading, is part of ongoing efforts to stabilise refinery operations.

President John Dramani Mahama attended the ceremony as special guest of honour and delivered the keynote address.

The refinery, Tema Oil Refinery, is one of Ghana’s main state-owned petroleum processing facilities.

The Ghana CEOs Summit was supported by several corporate and professional bodies including University of Ghana, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), Deloitte, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Media General and Multimedia Group.

Mr. Kombat, a lawyer and entrepreneur, has been in office for about a year and has previously been associated with legal and private sector roles in energy and agribusiness.
