Founder of Blue Power Energy, Salma Okonkwo, has called on women entrepreneurs and professionals to build stronger support systems and remain resilient in their pursuit of business growth and wealth creation.

She made the remarks during the 6th Global Women’s Professional and Business Exchange Conference and Expo held here in Accra on Thursday, 28 May, 2026.

The conference brought together women executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and emerging leaders from different sectors under the theme: “Building Generational Wealth – Wealth Preservation and Creation.”

Speaking to the media, Salma Okonkwo said women must remain intentional, determined, and supportive of one another despite challenges they may encounter.

“It would not always be smooth, but what we should ensure we do is to be intentional, to be deliberate. We should persist and not fall,” she said.

She also stressed the importance of mentorship and networking among women across various sectors.

“Women must create a network where people support each other,” she added.

According to her, platforms like the conference are important in helping women scale up their businesses and careers through access to knowledge, finance, and professional guidance.

Also speaking to the media, Nicolina Adumuah of the National Insurance Commission described the conference as an important platform for empowering women in both the formal and informal sectors.

“When you look at the class of women that are in there, you are not only looking at the affluent, but also people in the informal sector as well,” she said.

She noted that conferences like this help women better understand business risks, financial management, and available support systems.

“These conferences help shape the entire society,” she stated.

Nicolina Adumuah also encouraged participants to apply the lessons and knowledge gained from the conference in their businesses and professional lives.
