The minister for sports and recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that Black Stars players will each receive an appearance fee of $100,000 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He said the government has approved the package for players selected to represent Ghana at the tournament, which will be staged in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Kofi Adams stated that the amount has been fixed as the official appearance fee for each player.
The announcement comes as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at the global tournament.
Government is also awaiting the release of about GH¢150 million from the Ministry of Finance to support preparations for the competition.
The Black Stars are currently in camp in Cardiff ahead of an international friendly against Wales on June 2, while the final 26-man squad is expected to be named on June 1.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The team will begin its campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field, before facing England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium and Croatia on June 27.
Mr Adams has urged Ghanaians to support the team as they prepare for the tournament.
