The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kpandai, Haruna Abdul-Karim, has appealed to the Ministry of Education and the Kpandai District Directorate of Education to prioritise the posting of teachers from Kpandai and surrounding communities to schools within the district.

According to him, the frequent transfer requests from teachers posted from other parts of the country continue to disrupt teaching and learning in the area.

“Teachers posted from distant parts of the country often seek transfers shortly after arriving in the district, and this creates challenges for effective teaching and learning in our schools,” he said.

He made the appeal during a handover ceremony at the Kpandai District Assembly, where he also called for improved support to strengthen education delivery in the district.

The DCE further urged the government to provide school furniture, requesting 900 pieces, comprising 500 mono desks and 400 dual desks, for distribution to 45 selected schools.

“We are appealing for the handover of 900 pieces of school furniture, made up of 500 mono desks and 400 dual desks, to benefit 45 selected schools across the district,” he added.

Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Abdul-Karim stressed that prioritising local teacher postings would help address staffing instability and improve education outcomes in the district.

The Kpandai District Director of Education, Yaw Sarfo, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government for providing the furniture. He assured that the items would be distributed promptly to the beneficiary schools.

Mr. Sarfo also pledged collaboration with relevant authorities to address concerns about teacher postings, while appealing for additional furniture and educational support to further improve teaching and learning in the district.
