The Government of Ghana has launched an initiative aimed at ensuring Ghanaian supporters living abroad are able to attend Black Stars matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana High Commission in Canada announced that it has been instructed by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to compile details of Ghanaians residing in Canada who wish to attend Ghana’s opening Group L fixture against Panama on June 17 but have been unable to secure tickets.

Interested supporters have been asked to submit their personal details, including email addresses, by June 10 for onward submission to the Ministry for processing.

The move follows government confirmation that 1,000 World Cup tickets have been secured specifically for Ghanaian fans in the diaspora as part of efforts to strengthen support for the national team during the tournament.

Sports Minister Kofi Adams previously explained that the initiative is designed to guarantee a strong Ghanaian presence at stadiums and provide the Black Stars with vocal backing throughout the competition.

Ghana will open their Group L campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before heading to the United States to face England and Croatia in their remaining group matches.

The Black Stars, now under head coach Carlos Queiroz, are targeting a return to the knockout stages for the first time since 2010, having exited at the group phase in both 2014 and 2022.
